‘Probably Crying’ - Girl Wilde | Review

Bubblegum grunge has found its representation in Girl Wilde.

Packed with 90s-inspired alt-rock instrumentals and catchy pop melodies, Girl Wilde’s new single is all about owning her emotions and leaning into imperfection. The independent artist has a little something for everyone. Blending rock, pop, and electronic influences, combined with an audacious, tongue-in-cheek persona, Girl Wilde is carving out a fresh artistic identity.

‘Probably Crying’ follows up her January release ‘Fake Louis” and she continues to blend pop melodies with the intensity and ruff exterior of an Alt-Rock artist. Girl Wilde's music is punchy, impassioned, and full of girl power and this song is no exception. Definitely a tough girl exterior. Honestly, this song makes me think about a lot of other young people right now. Generally, we blow a lot of things a bit out of proportion and internalize a lot of it. Hey, we all cope in different ways, my way is listening to Girl Wilde and feeling like one tough cookie.

"Probably Crying" will be the first single from Girl Wilde's debut EP, slated for a late summer release

Previously songwriting for others as well as her past musical project, Alex Barnes aka Girl Wilde is no novice to the music world. The Girl Wilde project was born from a desire to be unrestricted by genre, expectations, and trends. Blending influences of rock, pop, and electronic, Girl Wilde is carving out a fresh and distinctive sound that is uniquely and truly her own.
