Some people treat life as a race to get to each milestone. Once you graduate junior high it’s a race to get to high school, get your driver's license, graduate high school and so on. “Dreaming, Backwards” by Ella Vos is an electro pop song that reminds us to enjoy our youth.
Ella Vos’ smooth, breathy tone compliments the upbeat pop synths beautifully. Together it reminds me of hits by Ellie Goulding. The instrumentals convey a sense of fun and youth as the artist sings deep lyrics like “wasting all our youth scared of being young” and “missing yesterday instead of living now.” This song is such a breath of fresh air as it advises us to live life to the fullest.
Ella is an independent pop artist whose 2019 collab with Gavin Haley, “The Way I Am,” has reached a staggering 15.2 million streams on Spotify. Another notable collaboration of hers is “White Noise (R3hab Remix)” with R3hab which has over 45 million streams on the same platform.
