“The Carousel” - CAii | Review

Haunting and engaging, you won’t want to pause this song once you start it.

CAii brings listeners the dark pop song “The Carousel”. CAii is an artist to start watching now because like artists like Billie Eilish, Banks, and Florence & The Machine, she will be a voice that will be dominating the music industry. I am in love with this dark pop synth that just drips from the song, it is constant anticipation and engagement under these insanely powerful and smooth vocals. The vocals and lyrics are incredibly done. You can really follow the story of the lyrics and become invested in the story, it’s almost like an engaging ghost story that leaves you with goosebumps.

When asked about the track she said it was “A track about two people being stuck in a never-ending game of cat and mouse because they are both too proud to admit their feelings for one another and too scared to make a move."

The Carousel is the first self-produced single taken from the debut EP ‘Tease’ from exciting new alternative pop artist CAii. Her first single, Wicked Game, was featured on the Loku YouTube channel, amassing over 12k views and her second single Temporary High gained support from Mystic Sons, Popped Music, The Drunken Coconut.

CAii is an exciting new singer-songwriter and producer from Manchester, who fuses pop with dark, dramatic production. Identifying her music as alternative, electronic pop, CAii has been inspired by artists such as Banks, Billie Eilish, Tula and Fleetwood Mac.

Her EP, Tease, is due for release in May 2019. The release focuses in on the emotions people experience when exploring the possibility of a new romance which shows all the signs of becoming a deeply flawed relationship. It addresses themes such as lust, pride, fear, manipulation and rejection.
