"Midnight Carlight” - Sam the Astronaut | Review

“Midnight Carlight” by Sam the Astronaut is an indie pop song that is ambrosia for the ears. Seriously, this song is a hit!

The synth notes and production instantly transport you to their “flavourful” universe and the deep notes and harmonizing between the artists are heaven. The lyrics bring an element of midnight, care-free adventures with your partner that make you feel alive. The song showcases Sam the Astronaut’s production skills as they use funky disco sounds to carry the melody through to the last few seconds.

Sam the Astronaut is like a giant alien synthesizer entering Earth’s atmosphere preparing to beam you up with its lush soundwaves. Its purpose; to take you to a place where the dull realities of everyday life are washed away and, even just for a moment, replaced with an irresistible urge to dance. And trust, they will be there right beside you the entire time.

Sam the Astronaut is a Canadian band based in Port Moody, British Columbia. The duo consists of TJ Gibson and Garrison Cade and their sound is a smooth mix of snappy pop, new-wave electronic, hip-hop grit, and funky disco. They have been releasing music since 2017, with their 2018 single “Sunshine Gold (Version 2)” reaching over a million streams on Spotify. I expect their new song to have an astronomical amount of streams because it is truly out of this world.
