"KITM" - A Beacon School | Review

On August 16, 2023, A Beacon School released “KITM”, a track from their anticipated project yoyo.

The song starts right away with a catchy guitar riff and Smith’s dreamy vocals. From the start you can feel the energy of something building and it finally releases during the chorus with the entrance of the drums. The song feels hazy like a dream, but the emotions are very clear and make the entire track stand out. “KITM”, also known as “Keep It To Myself” is the anthem for those who feel alone and forced to keep things to themselves with lyrics like ‘in the corner, on the shelf keeping nothing for yourself, can't take back what's in the tile let it hold your voice a while’. From beginning to end, the song has the ability to resonate with listeners and gradually provide a sense of peace and understanding by the end. As an introvert myself, I highly recommend this song to those who wish to feel a sense of comfort whenever they feel low.

Patrick J. Smith, otherwise known as A Beacon School, is a singer-songwriter who hails from New York. Smith’s solo debut was in 2018 with his album Cola, which has amassed over 22 million streams on Spotify, however he is no stranger to the game, having been making music since 2009 and releasing and performing with various bands for over a decade. Now after 5 years, Smith is ready to release his latest project. The new full length titled yoyo is set to release on October 13, 2023 and if “KITM” is any indication of what we expect to see from Smith, you will not be disappointed.
