Low Lying Sun returned with their latest single “Heaven Knows” on November 4, 2022.
The song is one that has the same grit we enjoy when listening to 90s rock, while still containing that catchy pop chorus. The track starts with a raw amp sound that quickly shifts into the full band coming in and rocking out with the main melody. The title of the song itself poses a statement on the phrase “heaven knows”, painting a story for listeners about engaging in a relationship and wondering how it came to be. The chorus of the pop rock single leads with the question “Why did it end in love?” which could be seen as both optimistic or cynical, completely open for interpretation.
The UK band, made up of vocalist Michael Hemmings, bassist Matt Chan, guitarist Ross Connell and Noah Booth on the drums, are storytellers of song and this new track is no different. “Heaven Knows” is the first single dropped from their upcoming EP ‘Did You Mean It?’, set to be released in February 2023. This will be the second EP rising band Low Lying Sun has dropped, following the success of their first EP ‘Hymn to Say Goodbye’ in 2022.
