Cate Tomlinson and Fai Laci release fun pop collaboration “Good Days”
The first release coming off of debut EP “Missing”, “Good Days” takes Tomlinson into the world of pop. Fai Laci (aka Luke Faillaci) is a new collaborator for Tomlinson and his indie sound mixed with her pop-rock influence makes for a warm pop anthem. (Fai Laci is a producer, musician, and vocalist from Boston, MA who creates a new sound inspired by several genres of music.) While it may be fall, this track is quite reminiscent of those last days of the warm summer sun. Cate once again proves her immense versatility and range as an artist to keep an eye on.
About Good Days:
“I went to Luke’s to make a song a few weeks ago, not really with an intention of making something to put out but we ended up loving what came out of it. He had a chord progression that I thought was super cool so I built the song off that while he produced the instrumental, and we finished the whole first draft in one day. I wanted to write something that was upbeat and had an end-of-summer vibe, but also something that was nostalgic. With everything that’s going on right now, college is obviously not normal and it feels like we’re running out of time to be young. I think the age of being in your late teens/early twenties is intensely romanticized and considered by pop culture to be the prime of your life, so I wanted that feeling of savoring the time we do have and making the most of the experiences we’re presented with to come through in the song.”
Cate Tomlinson is a 19-year-old singer, songwriter, and performing artist from San Francisco. Her music is inspired by pop, soul, and rock and roll. The young self-made artist now based out of Boston is working to develop her unique voice as an artist at Northeastern University as a Music Industry major. Continuing to explore her craft and passion, this young vocalist is bound to make waves this year.
To start, the song highlights Tomlinson’s strong and sultry register as her voice echoes through what feels like an empty room. The impending loneliness is fleeting though, as an electric kick and snare are quick to greet you and transport to a music club packed with people and slathered in neon. - Gig Goer
