“Fall For You” – Steve James | Review

This just in. Steve James is the electro pop artist to look out for this Spring. Releasing his single “Fall For You” today, April 5th, Steve James makes a statement with this vibey and dancey love song. This is definitely a summertime party anthem that really delves into the world of EDM and merges it beautifully with a classically pop lyrical and vocal sound. “Fall For You” recounts a tumultuous turn of events in his love life offset by a call-and-response from co-writer Sarah Barrios.

James comments that “‘Fall For You’ is about crush not being a communicator, so you’re like, ‘Let’s talk about it. Let’s figure it out’.The song came from a combination of frustration and desire.”

This single is setting the right tone for his upcoming debut +1 EP coming soon. This cross-genre artist is one that I need more of in my playlist. The textures are electric and this song is an ear worm which will be in my head all day.

A bit about Steve James:

Johnstown, PA-born and Los Angeles-based producer Steve James first caught fire in high school. His seminal remix of ZHU’s “Faded”topped the HypeMachine charts and became a mainstay on SiriusXM’s BPM. Relocating to the West Coast, he joined forces in the studio with songwriter extraordinaire Poo Bear and co-wrote and co-produced “Purpose” from Justin Bieber’s chart-dominating multi-platinum album of the same name. Opting to dropout of high school and move West, he collaborated with Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha on the double-platinum smash “In The Name of Love,” toured with Garrix, The Chainsmokers, and Matoma as well as produced for Little Mix, The Vamps, and Lights.
