"easy for u."- will hyde | Review

I’m a big fan of production-based pop songs and will hyde’s “easy for u.” easily fits into that category.

Its mix of guitar and beats creates the perfect backdrop for this single about the pain of being played with. Hyde has that smooth, steady voice that portrays emotion in very subtle, yet palpable ways, but it's the lyricism – both straightforward and poetic – that makes this song a great debut for his upcoming EP. In the second verse, he sings, “I’m the only one that still cares/I’ve seen all your tears/But I’m always the one you use,” with each line feeding into the other, usually in a cleverly rhythmic way. “easy for u” may be about the struggle to get out of a manipulative relationship, but this song will not struggle at all to gain an audience that wants to hear more.

Hyde was originally part of a multi-million streaming pair called SYDE, but now he’s embarking on his solo project. With comparisons to Gus Dapperton and Rex Orange County, this 20 year old has a big future ahead of him with “easy for u” as the first single for his debut EP, which he plans to release sometime soon.
