“Stupid Things (ft. Neville)” - Discrete | Review

Get ready for an electro-pop track perfect for summer because Discrete is here to deliver “Stupid Things”.

This is the B-side of the upcoming debut electro-euphoria EP "EXPLORE" by Discrete. With "Stupid Things" Discrete goes more toward EDM/Future base but keeping the pop vibe. The track is dripping in pulsating synths catchy hooks and flawless vocals. A true feel-good summer jam, the track explores the desire to love and be daring and adventurous with someone. Having sent a demo to Neville and her producer, who completed the track with her stunning vocals; the production behind ‘Stupid Things’ differed to anything that Discrete has ever done before. For what was once an instrumental number, quickly became a remarkable dreamy anthem.

It has been quite the year for the electropop connoisseur Discrete; whose passion and creativity for dance music has guided him into becoming the multi-talented producer that he is today. Fusing pop with dance influences, the Swedish artist will soon release his debut EP ‘EXPLORE’ on June 26th, 2020.

With his own impressive catalog of music hitting over 65 million plays across all platforms, Discrete is already making waves across the electronic music scene. Having produced songs for many artists across the board, Discrete has been able to experiment and perfect his own craft in a way that allows him to be capable of just about anything. He tells us: “As an artist, I always aim for growth, and want to stay away from focusing on one particular genre. People have always told me to ‘find my sound’ which is something that I like to keep in mind. I like the thought of my audience not knowing what to expect when I release music.”

Featuring 5 flavourful tracks, the new debut EP ‘EXPLORE’ weaves dance-pop versatility through relatable modern themes, including relationships, reflections and bettering one’s self. Full of uplifting, splash-filled melodies that don’t confine to one genre, the new project truly captures Discrete’s vision.

Talking about the process, he tells us: “It was in mid-2019 when the idea of an EP came to mind. I wanted to build and create something that felt like me. Something that had diversity, instead of releasing 5 songs that sound similar. EXPLORE became my own way of exploring different genres, whilst challenging myself as an artist, songwriter, and producer. I'm really excited about the final result.”

Growing up in an artistic and culturally diverse household and discovering music production at an early age, Stockholm-based electro-pop producer Discrete developed his production versatility over years of unreleased solo projects and writing and producing for artists spanning just about every genre. That patience and experience paid off when his 2018 debut release as an artist, "Without You." featuring Mary Cicilia, was released to widespread critical acclaim, earning over 40 million streams. Since then, he's gone on to release five other tracks including three singles from his upcoming, highly-anticipated debut EP EXPLORE, "Typo" with fellow Chilean producer Sistek and singer-songwriters Tudor & Voss, "Better Days" with Chris Collins, and most recently, "Feed Me With Love" with Charla K.
