“Sat In My Bedroom” - Gracie Convert | Review

An R&B track meant for the hopeless romantic, “Sat In My Bedroom” is a beautiful track from the incredible Gracie Convert.

I am in love with female R&B vocals right now. Convert has this smooth, slightly sultry, absolutely effortless quality to her voice that just melts over this track. There is a dream-like quality to this take on bedroom R&B that feels very current but also classic in melody. Definitely a lockdown love song it brings up the questions we ask ourselves during a crisis, and the consequences of having too much time to think, too much to think about, and lacking the usual outlets and coping mechanisms to let those thoughts escape. Produced by her good friend James Berkeley (and Yakul band member), they seamlessly finished the track within 6 hours of them getting into the studio post lockdown.

French/British songstress Gracie Convert is quickly gaining a reputation for her raw emotive vocals, catchy melodies and relatable lyricism. No stranger to the live scene, she has shared the stage with the likes of Jamie Isaac, Jerkcurb, Oscar WorldPeace, Boadi and Luke Burr and also hosts a monthly show on Soho Radio. She is due to release a catalogue of songs throughout 2021, exploring the topics of vulnerability, love and mental health.
