"Ride" - Karen Hardy | Review

This is a flashback in time to some retro R&B mixed with the fun electro-pop vocals of today.

Karen Hardy creates a total dreamscape-style track that brings you the feeling of an 80's teen movie. I love the richness of her voice and her ability to create depth. The song is a pure cute teen romance and puppy love. It creates an air of nostalgia that is fun and retro but also remakes that 80's R&B pop sound shift more modern.

"I got the idea for Ride after realizing that I had gone through my teen years without having done anything that a typical teen probably did. I never went to my prom, never had a high school boyfriend, and never even had a proper graduation. Now being in my early twenties, I feel like I only have a little while longer to get it out of my system. Following the songs release, I'll be putting out a music video which was inspired by some classic 80's teen movies." - Hardy

Karen Hardy is a Pop/Soul artist from New Jersey who brought her stirring hooks to Nashville, Tennessee in the fall of 2017. Karen’s sound is often compared to the likes of Ariana Grande, Sza, and Tori Kelly, with a voice that’s said to be “sweet and smooth like honey”. Karen was surrounded by music at a young age, from musicals at summer camp to her Dads love of The Beatles and Martin guitars. At the age of 15, Karen picked up the guitar herself and immediately began experimenting with writing songs. She left public high school at 16 to allow more time for her craft and got her diploma online. Karen released her debut EP “Clouds” in June of 2017 and on October 19th, she will be releasing her debut single “Never Do”.
