"On and On" - Emili | Review

A stunningly simple love song, "On and On" by Emili is a yearning ballad you wish would never end.

Emili has vocals that belong in a dream. Truly something so raw and beautiful. The track is simple and stripped back really with mostly piano and vocals and some guitar. This is the song you image is playing walking with your crush as the sky turns that rosey lavender color. This track is what your soft daydreams sound like.

Emili said on the track: "I wrote this song last summer when all my songs started sounding the same. Every time I put a pen to a piece of paper, I would find that everything I wrote down seemed to be questioning my future and the feeling that I wasn't moving forward."

Emili is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter who is based in New Haven, CT. After receiving third place on Chinese Idol at the age of 15, Emili started writing her own music to express herself in a more unique way. She is a current sophomore at Yale, studying Cognitive Science. However, she considers herself really majoring in extracurriculars. She spends most of her time writing music and singing covers. Her biggest inspirations are Norah Jones, Ingrid Michaelson, Adele, and Sara Bareilles.
