"Moonshot" - Forts |Review

‘Moonshot’ is a bright, synthy lullaby that evolves into a stellar wall of sound. It tells a story of finding yourself in a place that's slowly causing you to fade away, and being determined to fight against the mediocrity - to find strength and push off into the unknown.

I find I love listening to electro pop because it prepares me for the pop music I enjoy in the summer and “Moonshot” by Forts is perfect for that seasonal transition in moods. It’s a combination of beautiful, echoing vocals and simplistic beats make for a light, yet emotional song. I’m especially in love with its message; Forts said this song “tells a story of finding yourself in a place that's slowly causing you to fade away, and being determined to fight against the mediocrity - to find strength and push off into the unknown." I think this is especially relevant right now with that stuck feeling that comes with being at home. Moonshot presents the silver lining of these situations though: there is hope to be found and it sounds beautiful.

Forts is a duo made up of Mary Clare Clemons and Colton Jones. This Midwest-based electro-pop pair are both heavily involved in making their own music (they co-produce every song and Clemons write the lyrics), ensuring that every song is unique. facebook.com/fortsofficial instagram.com/forts.jpg
