Ben Provincial’s new single teaches you to love and live in the moment. ‘Love You For Today’ was written about cherishing a romantic moment even when the relationship was never built to last. It is bitter-sweet and totally heartbreaking.
It feels like you knew the relationship has an expiration date but go for it anyway. If you are like me and love a trashy Netflix rom com you could see my brain tying this to Emily In Paris; totally not destined to work out but there is the temptation to just go for it and try to fall in love regardless. It doesn’t typically work out but sometimes that love, even for a short time, is worth it.
This track is anthemic. It swallows you whole and makes you feel the scenario. I could imagine the conversation happening as the song progressed. Ben’s voice is so rich and it only adds power to the track when his voice has this grit or break on the line “you have your reasons”. I feel like that is so painful. Accepting and valuing what that person is going through even though you so desperately want it to work out.
