In her newest single “I Know About Me,” rising indie-pop artist Kel Adore delivers a heartfelt meditation on identity, distance, and the quiet courage of growth. It's a coming-of-age anthem not just for your teens or twenties — but for every moment when you realize you've changed, and the people who once felt closest suddenly feel far away.

Written in Beachwood Canyon with Anjali Sebastian and Danny Dash, the song’s warmth and clarity echo with the hush of memory and the bite of reality. There's cheeky charm in her ad libs ("jeez" / "sheesh"), but they’re paired with lines that cut deeper:

“I kinda hope you still might want to visit.”It’s the sound of someone making peace with where they came from — and who they’ve become.

Adore captures the nuanced ache of familial drift with compassion, not blame. Her lyric “I know about me ‘cause I know about you” is a generational gut-punch — recognizing that our self-awareness is shaped by what (and who) came before, even when we no longer walk the same path.

At 2:17, the bridge lands like a breakthrough. It’s chef’s kiss storytelling — the kind of moment that makes you replay the whole song with new ears.

With roots in thoughtful songwriting and inspired by artists like Julia Michaels and Jon Bellion, Kel Adore continues to carve out a lane of raw, reflective pop that speaks to the soul. “I Know About Me” is an anthem for anyone outgrowing their past with both pride and gentleness. It’s not about cutting ties — it’s about honoring what shaped you, and walking forward anyway.
