Indie-pop duo JOSEPH — sisters Natalie and Meegan Closner — are entering a fearless new chapter with their upcoming album Closer To Happy (out January 30, 2026 via Nettwerk). It’s their first full-length release since the departure of sister and co-founder Allison Closner, and the record promises to be their most vulnerable and transformative body of work yet.

Leading the charge is “Ready To Let You Down,” an emotionally charged anthem about shedding the pressure to be perfect and finding freedom in showing up as you are. The track pulses with urgent guitars, explosive percussion, and JOSEPH’s signature harmonies — now sharper and more defiant than ever.

“Ready To Let You Down” feels like a rallying cry, a moment of catharsis that turns fear into liberation. It’s the kind of song you blast in your car with the windows down, shouting every word like it’s been sitting in your chest for years.

Co-produced with Luke Niccoli (Carly Rae Jepsen, Towa Bird, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness), the track leans heavier into indie-rock territory while keeping the intimacy and emotional honesty that has made JOSEPH’s music resonate with fans since their debut.

For listeners navigating growth, grief, and messy self-discovery, “Ready To Let You Down” is both a balm and a battle cry — a perfect entry point into what promises to be JOSEPH’s boldest era yet.
