On November 21, we interviewed indie pop duo NÄM from Texas, made up of Nora Luders and Sam Simmons. Simmons started playing music when he was eight and began writing songs on a daily basis at the age of fifteen. He’s been in several different types of bands, but started making his own music on Soundcloud. When he met Luders online, he found the creative process between the two of them just made sense to him. Luders was always interested in music, specifically singing, as a child as she was involved in choirs and took vocal lessons. Though not always focused on music throughout her life, meeting Simmons and exchanging music back and forth with him made her rediscover her love for music. They have released two EPs, Umlaut and Body Lotion, and their song, Face, was featured on one of Spotify’s “Fresh Finds of 2017” playlists.
