"I just wanna be (happy)" - Michael Thurber x Louis Cato x Daniel J. Watts | Review

I just want to be happy and this track by Michael Thurber, Louis Cato, and Daniel J. Watts fills me with warmth and happiness.

Sit back and enjoy this lofi pop/hip-hop track. I will be the first to say hip-hop isn’t usually my go to genre, but I really am making an exception. Giving me Chance the Rapper kind of musician styling, this song is one to add to my feel good playlist. I think that this song touches on a lot of the key points that remind us all of our humanity. We all hurt, we all want to make the people we care about proud. We all want to be happy, and that is powerful.

This is the first song from michael thurber's 'opus mankindness', a collection of 12 new songs that will be released throughout 2021. It features two of Michael's closest friends and collaborators, Louis Cato (Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Snarky Puppy) and Daniel J. Watts (2020Tony Nominee for Tina, The Tina Turner Musical).

Producer/Songwriter/Bassist Michael Thurber’s musical voice has defied categorization. From composing scores for The Royal Shakespeare Company and performing as a member of the house band on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as well as around the country in duo with Grammy-nominated violinist Tessa Lark, to co-founding the smash YouTube channel CDZA and creating his Thurber Theater variety show at Joe’s Pub in NYC, Thurber’s musical journey has been remarkably singular.
