"Favorite Boy" - Cate Tomlinson | Review

Cate Tomlinson releases new sultry pop ballad “Favorite Boy”.

Tomlinson is back with her newest track “Favorite Boy.” The track is all about the tension and back and forth of a love not quite meant to be. Tomlinson dives into the world of more Lo-Fi pop sound and really creates a complete story. Her songwriting abilities just get better and better with each release. If you combined the stylings of FLETCHER, Taylor Swift, and a bit of Lana Del Rey you would find Cate’s unique blend of electronic and alternative pop. “Favorite Boy” is just one of several songs coming out over the next few months, so keep an ear and an eye out for Cate as we go into summer.

Favorite Boy is about two people wanting to be together at the wrong time, but knowing it’s gonna happen at some point. It’s about tension, keeping secrets, and fighting the urge to be impulsive. My sound has evolved a little more towards electro-pop and alt-pop, so I’m excited to keep exploring that. I wanna keep my sound pretty fluid, this summer I’m going to be working on some new stuff and experimenting with that. - Cate
