ZØ’s first release in over a year “Alright” is incredibly beautiful in more ways than one, the instrumentation, lyrics and overall vibe take me to a different place.
The song itself is about a young woman falling in love. I could definitely see this in a love scene in a movie so perfectly. ZØ’s vocals and harmonies are just so breathtaking. The soulful guitar is so dreamy and meshes perfectly with her voice.
ZØ Marie grew up in a small town in Southern New Jersey. She’s wanted to be a singer-songwriter since she was five years old and now she’s making music for the world to hear. “Alright” is the first single to her debut album “Soulmate” which she hopes to release before finishing her last year at Columbia University. “Soulmate” is a woven road with twists, turns, highs and lows that detail ZØ’s journey of love in her early twenties. It is her life in songs.
